Find the Right Part

PART IDENTIFICATION GUIDE

A few checks can prevent the wrong order.

  1. Read the equipment data plate. Record the manufacturer, complete model and serial number.
  2. Find the original part number. Photograph any labels, stamped numbers and connector markings. A supplier stock number and an OEM part number can be different.
  3. Compare the specifications. For motors, compare voltage, frequency, rotation, shaft and mounting. For gaskets, compare dimensions, corner shape and mounting profile. For switches and controls, compare electrical ratings and connections.
  4. Check what is included. An assembly, individual component and multipack are different purchases. Do not assume a blade, bracket, wiring or hardware is included.
  5. Confirm OEM or alternative. A part described as replacing a manufacturer number is not automatically a genuine OEM part.
